Lexarithmos

Beginning in Spring 2026, Lexarithmos is offering lessons to prepare students for public gymnasium, focusing on Mathematics, to make the transition from primary to secondary school as seamless as possible.

What is Lexarithmos?

Lexarithmos is a private institute teaching Mathematics and Greek to children ranging from Grade 4 to Grade 6 in primary school. Our aim is to prepare students in the best way possible and aid them in achieving their goals, either preparing them for public, or private secondary school.

Our name comes from the concept of "Lexarithm", where each letter has an innate value, with each word's Lexarithm being the total value of all its letters. To calculate this sum, the word must be written in capital letters and using the table of values for each capital letter, one can calculate the Lexarithm of a word. As far as we know, this concept is exclusive to the Greek language.

What we teach

The curriculum our institute focuses on revolves around the required curriculum to successfuly pass the entrance exams for the private secondary schools of Nicosia These include the English School of Nicosia, the G.C. School of Careers, the Grammar School of Nicosia, both the English and Greek-speaking Pascal Private Schools, the Senior School, Forum, Falcon. We ensure students are sufficiently prepared via the teaching of a complete syllabus, myriads of practice questions and papers, including past papers under exam conditions, tailored to the specific requirements of the desired school of each student and parent.

Our Greek curriculum focuses on the development of essay writing and its improvement, with special attention on the commonly recurring themes found in entrane exams. We also improve the understanding of literature extracts and reading comprehension. The fundamentals of grammar and the specifics for synonyms, antonyms (opposites) and other components of the Greek language are also taught and improved, for a combined improvement both in reading comprehension and in writing, as well as the holistic improvement of every students level of Greek.

In Mathematics we focus on arithmetic, algebra and geometry, learning the fundamentals and the specifics outlined in the entrance exam requirements. Through our comprehensive teaching of patterns and series, we improve not only the students' understanding of Math, but also lay the foundation for critical thinking and general pattern recognition. In conjuction to the aforementioned curriculum, we also provide the students with a comprehensive understanding of Non-Verbal Reasoning, which is a requirement in certain school's entrance exams.
